Benefits To Exercise
Are there really any Benefits To Exercise? If I'm going to put in
all this work what am I going to get out of it? In short we all want to
know... what's in it for me?
Of
course the answer is Yes, there are lots of advantages some are obvious
and some will surprise you. Below is a summary of an article on MayoClinic.com
that lists 7 Benefits To Exercise.
1. Exercise
improves your mood.
2. Exercise fights chronic diseases.
3.
Exercise helps you manage your weight.
4. Exercise increases your
energy level.
5. Exercise helps you sleep.
6. Exercise can improve
your sex life.
7. Exercise can be fun!
Not that all these things aren't great but I think they missed the most
important benefit...You Will Feel Better About Yourself! Just
for a second I want you to imagine putting on your clothes and not
having to suck your gut in or wanting to look in the mirror when your
ready and not seeing all your flaws. We
all try to tell ourselves it's just who we are but the truth it is just
easier to stay this way than it is to turn around and make the change.
But Here is the cold hard truth... It will be harder at first but you
CAN form new, Good, habits and once established they will be as
hard to break as the bad ones are right now.
There is sooooo much
misery in this world because people do not like who they are both
physically and personally. There's a great saying that goes..."You
can't Love someone else till you can Love Yourself" Don't get caught up
in the selfish, self love thing because the ultimate goal here is to
"Love Someone Else" the point is you can't give away what you don't
have.
Take some simple, easy to stick to steps and start forming
some new habits today. Take it slow, don't jump in head first. Too
often we start things on emotion and let's face it that only lasts so
long, eventually we are going to hit the wall.
A very good man
Randy Pausch once said "Walls are there to prove how badly we want
something." Emotion will not get you through walls in life...it
takes fortitude and determination. This video below is long but it is
amazingly inspirational and life affirming from a man who knows he is
dying of cancer and has a chance to say what is important to him at this
stage in life. It's not exactly about the benefits to exercise but
remember we're trying to get you to "Be Who You Want To Be" Take some
time... It won't be wasted.
